Seniors want to stay in the homes they love.
You can help make this possible!
According to the National Alliance for Caregiving, more than 44 million Americans are caring for an aging relative or friend. Of these, 29 million have other jobs. Because the 85+ population is growing at the fastest rate, the US Department of Labor predicts that by 2008, 54% of the workforce will be involved in caring for an older person.
Not everyone can manage the demands of working, raising children, and caring for an elderly loved one. Reduced hours, lost wages, missed promotions and opportunities take their toll on the individual and the corporations. The “MetLife Juggling Act Study” estimated that in 1999, US companies lost $11 billion to $29 billion a year in productivity. A new report, soon to be unveiled, will reveal even greater losses.
Adult children often live hundreds of miles away and cannot provide care for their aging parents. Two income families are the norm, which means that in order to care for an elderly family member, one must stop working or reduce hours to part-time. Adult daycare centers and assisted living facilities are often expensive and impractical. The majority of seniors will do what they can to stay in the homes they love. This is your market!
